UNITED SHIELD ACCREDITED TO ISO14001![]() United Shield International has achieved accreditation of ISO14001, the Environmental Management System. Preparation and assessment for this important system has been going on for many months culminating with assessment and accreditation under the auspices of TUV UK in October 2011. This significant accreditation demonstrates that United Shield meets current environmental legislation and is a sign of our commitment and awareness of our surroundings, of the impact our business can have on others and our determination to minimise this environmental impact. ISO14001 is a system which aids efficiencies and increases awareness. Environmental performance is an important part of the corporate culture not only for altruistic reasons but also because it leads to efficiencies, improved performance and a greater awareness at all levels of the company. Managing Director Terry Hand commented that this important attainment continues United Shield's journey of progressive improvement. We constantly strive to improve our product offering, our production techniques and methods, to reduce waste and to be more efficient. Credit for this accreditation goes to the Technology Centre lead by our Technology Director, Alan Hudson and also specifically to Mark Gray for his Project Management of this important task . ISO14001 is not a mark in the sand but a continuous process of improvement and awareness. We are confident that United Shield will treat this attainment with full consideration and will continue its role in saving lives and minimising its impact on the environment . |
