United Shield is a world leader in the design and manufacture of personal protective equipment (PPE) for deminers and persons undertaking mine detection and clearance work. All its products are designed to protect against the four threats from anti-personnel mines of overpressure, fragmentation, impact and heat/flame.

Drawing on its long and extensive experience and expertise in manufacturing personal ballistic protection equipment, United Shield has designed and assembled a range of demining products that comply with the latest version of the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), April 2009. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear and use, so that they do not restrict the application of demining tools and processes, but provide adequate protection against the risks of unintended detonations of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and mines, while also offering customers excellent value for money.

Product Range

United Shield's range of mine clearance and demining equipment consists of both protection and detection equipment, and includes: mine clearance suits, demining vests, body armour vests, demining visors with headbands, ballistic helmets with fragmentation visors, mine clearance shields, mine protected combat boots and overboots, hand held metal detectors, and non-magnetic mine prodders. While the Company has a comprehensive product range, its experienced team will develop or source bespoke solutions to satisfy customers specific requirements.

Protection Solutions

All of United Shield's mine clearance protection products are designed and manufactured to comply with IMAS 10.30 Second Edition (April 2009), in particular body armour has a STANAG 2920 V50 rating of 450 m/s and protects the chest, abdomen and groin against the blast effects of 240 gm of TNT at 60 cm from the closest part of the body, while eye protection has a V50 rating of 250 m/s, equivalent to not less than 5 mm of untreated polycarbonate.

Warranty & Quality Assurance

United Shield offers a five year warranty on ballistic and fragmentation performance of armour, and twelve months warranty on all other components and products. It is an ISO 9001:2008 registered company.
